"Fukui Bridge in Echizen Province", by Katsushika Hokusai
The front half of the bridge is made of stone and the back half of the bridge is made of wood. The wooden parapet is represented by sharp lines, while the stone parapet is represented by wobbling lines, showing the difference in texture between the two materials. You can feel the lively atmosphere with a large number of people passsing by on the bridge. The figures’ clothing and wrappings bear the publisher Eijyudo’s crest.
